Happiness does not come from doing easy work but from the afterglow of satisfaction that comes after the achievement of a difficult task that demanded our best. – Theodore Isaac Rubin

My name is Sébastien Tremblay and I am from Montréal, where I am studying e-commerce at HEC Montreal. My passion for technology is not new : I always been interested by computers and Internet, but it was hard for me to figure out what exactly I would like to do. I was n0t interested at all by complex programming or advanced IT stuff (SAP, …). So it took me a while to discover e-marketing. I also always been passionated with some parts of human resources, which is the reason why I did a BBA and I specialised in human resources. I never really saw myself work in HR, and I also wanted to do graduated studies (M.Sc.). I was, first, refused in HR, as anyone would expected by seeing my grades.  I did not give up, and I started doing some courses in IT.

During my free time, in 2008, I volunteered in local politics and that was my first contact with e-commerce. I decided to build a new website (with WordPress) with a blog, start a facebook page, a youtube channel and a twitter account. Politics is a weird world and it only is exciting around election time, so I stopped my involvement. However, the spark was there. I knew that e-marketing would be a real passion for me. A month later, I applied to graduated studies in e-commerce and was accepted. I am still studying since then and everyday, I know this is the right choice.

Last year, I worked as a computer trainer (Office : Excel, Word, Powerpoint) at my school. Since I was a e-commerce student, I also had the opportunity to develop new courses : Google Analytics, WordPress and Basic SEO. I really enjoyed this experience. During summer, I am doing an internship and will be back at school at fall to continue my M.Sc in e-commerce. With this blog, I will do my best to share my passion for e-marketing, and I hope I will be successful to show you how it’s all about the little things.
